Current Openings
Plumbing/HVAC Design Engineer – EIT or PE License Required
HVE is seeking a licensed PE or EIT with significant HVAC and plumbing design experience who can provide solutions to nuanced challenges, enjoys mentoring junior engineers, and who demands quality while they oversee design efforts from concept through construction.
What You’ll Do
- Coordinate with architects, contractors and other disciplines, along with internal team members to ensure fully integrated designs
- Perform HVAC and Plumbing load calculations, equipment selection, and code compliance reviews
- Conduct QA/QC on plans, specs, and reports
What You Bring
- Professional Engineer (PE) License or Engineer In Training (EIT) certification
- 5+ years of experience in plumbing/HVAC design
- Working knowledge of IMC, UPC, Energy Code and ASHRAE Standards.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication, organization, and mentoring skills
What We Offer
We are targeting a base salary of $100,000 to $150,000, but is determined by several factors including education, experience, licensing, and a history of working in the Seattle area.
- Medical insurance, premiums covered in full for full-time employees
- Dental insurance, premiums covered 75% by the company
- SIMPLE IRA with 3% employer match
- Minimum of fifteen (15) days PTO, and higher for more experienced employees
- Eight (8) paid holidays

Plumbing/HVAC Designer
HVE is seeking a Plumbing Designer with 2-5 years of HVAC and plumbing design experience who has the technical skills to support the designs for our growing portfolio of projects.
What You’ll Do
- Assist with HVAC and Plumbing load calculations, equipment selection, and code compliance reviews
- Coordinate with architects, contractors and internal team members to ensure fully integrated designs
- Prepare and review drawings, specifications, and reports
- Conduct QA/QC on plans, specs, and reports
What You Bring
- 2-5 years of experience in plumbing/HVAC design for buildings or facilities
- Working knowledge of IMC, UPC, Energy Code and ASHRAE Standards.
- Some experience with Revit, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.

- Strong communication and attention to detail

We are targeting a base salary of $70,000 to $150,000, but is determined by several factors including education, experience, licensing, and a history of working in the Seattle area.

Electrical Engineer – PE License Required
HVE is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer (PE) to provide design and consulting services across multiple project types, including multi-family, mixed-use, commercial, retail, restaurant, educational, civic, and healthcare facilities. This position is ideal for a seasoned professional holding a Professional Engineer (PE) license in Washington State who enjoys taking ownership of their work, mentoring junior staff, and collaborating closely with project teams to develop efficient and integrated designs.
What You’ll Do
- Design and oversee electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, communications, and control systems from concept through construction documents.
- Coordinate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other design professionals to produce fully integrated and compliant designs.
- Perform load calculations, circuit design, and system modeling.
- Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes (NEC, NFPA, IEEE) and safety standards.
- Review and stamp design documents as a Professional Engineer (PE).
- Participate in QA/QC reviews, specifications, and technical reports.
- Lead or participate in client meetings and presentations.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to less-experienced engineers and designers.
What You’ll Bring
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Washington.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical design for multi-family, mixed-use, commercial, retail, restaurant, educational, civic, and healthcare projects.
- Proven experience in design and implementation of electrical power, lighting, and control systems.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; experience with Revit is a plus.
- Strong understanding of NEC and other relevant electrical codes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional organization, time management, and attention to detail.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
What We Offer
We are targeting a base salary of $90,000 to $130,000, determined by factors including education, experience, licensing, and prior work within the greater Spokane area.
- Medical insurance, premiums covered in full for full-time employees
- Dental insurance, premiums covered 75% by the company

- Minimum of fifteen (15) days PTO, and higher for more experienced employees
